Oprah Update

I've already sent out a message to my Mentor Members and a few people that have recently inquired about my private coaching --- but if you're on the verge of signing up for one of my 1on1 services I need to warn you that I'm limited to taking only 2 more new clients in Sept and 2 more starting in Oct.

Why? Because I found out when I'm going to Oprah and it's in October! I still don't have all the dates and details yet but I have to make sure I'm MEDIA READY!

Oh yeah, and (when) I come back after being ON her show, you know I'm raising my rates again right? :0) SO ACT FAST PEOPLE!

Do you need to update your website?

So, what do you think? Are you getting the most your website could bring? Here are some questions to ask yourself (or your web designer or hosting company):



  • When is the last time you rewrote any of the copy or uploaded new content?
  • Have you maximized your pages for keywords for the search engines?
  • Do you have an opt in box on every page? Is it working?
  • Are you tracking your web stats to see how many people are coming to which pages, staying for how long, leaving on what page, signing up for what?
  • Are you offering valuable resources, content, articles and links that your target market will come back to your site often for and/or forward to a friend?
  • Are you paying more than $10/month for regular hosting?
  • Could you be having people sign up online to buy your products or services and aren't?
  • Are you as totally automated online as you could get to really maximize your time?
  • Do you understand all the capabilities a website could provide for you to save you time and make you more money with less work?
  • Do you have a content editor on your site so you can change the text or add pages anytime you want (or outsource to an assistant, either way you could get it done right away)?

Those are just a few questions I ask my clients when they meet with me regarding their websites...there is really so much more to cover and to know. But you may not be a website or internet marketing specialist. I'm certainly not either, but what I've learned over the last two years has catapulted my business into huge success and it's allowed me much more freedom in my life and business. Would you like to be more automated in some of your processes in your business in order to give you more free time? Think of all the new clients you could get, relationships you could cultivate and overall more money you could make if you really updated and automated your website to make it work for you, not just sit there.

So, ready to take action?

You can do one of three things the way I see it:

  • Contact your current web designer/developer - ask them these questions which might also stem into more then figure out how to maximize your site.

  • Do nothing. Get the same results you've been getting and be content with it.

Feature Article - Let's not forget about the print media. With the fast-moving and interactive internet let's face it; many local and large print newspapers are having a hard time. Did you know that most reporters are LOOKING AND WAITING for good stories to come their way? They're always on deadline though so they can't always notice the good things that all entrepreneurs are doing - so guess what? You have to keep telling them, eventually something will spark their interest and especially if you're giving them the ideas they want. So build your media contact list (locally or globally), find out what they want and how they want it and get and stay on their radar.

Write a Book - Do you have a story to tell? Always wanted to write a book? Great! It's a great way to get publicity for you and your business. It isn't that easy to write a book however like you might think and most likely you won't make millions off the sales of your book - it's good to do it for promotion, publicity and expert status however! I can help you figure out if this is the right option for you or if there is something easier to start with; this takes time and money.

Then of course you need the typical media information available such as a media kit or at least a one-sheet with your bio, topics, testimonials, picture, etc. You want to make sure it's all easily available on your website so if your site isn't up to 'media par' quite yet then contact me and we'll get it there; I can work with your designer or bring in my own who can help but it's all about how you position and promote yourself.

When you GET the publicity of course you will need to put it on your website and all over the internet again announcing it like in social networking sites, forums, blogs, etc. which also leads to higher expert status and added credibility so don't forget the "marketing of the publicity"!

Don't be wishy washy either, if you want something then don't stop until you get it. People like persistency, not pushiness so don't forget to keep going until you get at least 4-5 no's but be nice and helpful about it and you will succeed!

6 Easy Ways to Get More Exposure in Your Small Business This Year!

Today I was at one of my monthly networking events like usual and I had the pleasure of listening to a speaker, this gal I really like because she's got spunk and personality to the Nth degree.

She was talking about how to really get yourself out there, getting more publicity for yourself, how easy it really can be and what kind of amazing results you could really get from just a simple article, mention or interview.


She reminded me to not only finish my own PR push for my Oprah deal coming up of course, but to really put someone on this stuff. Meaning it's time to hire someone to do some of this publicity pushing for me because we all know it isn't happening on our own - right? Do you know what I mean?

I know you're in the same boat. I bet nearly 98% of you out there reading this right now can't remember the last time you got some good PR for yourself or your business?


I'll bet that most of you don't do it because you have no idea where to start or what to say or who to say it to, am I right?

Well you're not alone; I'm telling you, there's hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs just like you who keep thinking they need to do something to get some publicity too.

So, what can you do?

There's actually a bunch of things; let's get a list going and then if you can't figure out how to accomplish some of them or want to know more you can contact me for more info and I'd be glad to either help you myself if I can or refer you to a PR consultant I know who can.

Here are 6 Easy Ways to get you started (Most are relatively F.R.E.E. but they all take TIME):


Article Marketing - Write articles and get them out on your ezine, blog, other people's blogs, forums and social networking sites as well as article posting sites where the media and other businesses pick them up and use them. This ultimately gives you better search engine ranking, it helps build your list and it launches you into expert status right away. For example: I have Google Alerts set up on myself, my name and my article titles to see where they land and this is where one of my recent articles was posted (I have a bunch on this site - check it out!) --------- 9 Strategies to Boost Your Sales Copy to Make More Money! Television Interviews - Again, watch your local market first for shows that talk about things you could comment on and contact them to be their 'expert' on the show next time talking about "x,y,z". You'd be surprised how many of them are constantly searching for interesting guests to have on their shows. Remember TV is a visual medium however to purely talking isn't always going to get you the gig; try working in some sort of visual example or presentation too.


Teleclass/Podcast/Webinar Guest - Do a search or find people in your circle of influence already doing teleclasses, find businesses on social networking sites advertising teleclasses, go to teleclass marketing sites and find people doing teleclasses and then make a list of the ones that target your unique audience and topics and then send them a pitch! Make sure you offer an affiliate program and some kind of product or service that you can promote during the call so they see it as a win-win for them too. (If you aren't sure what I meant by that last sentence, then it's time for a 1on1 with me!)

Are you "Being" your true Authentic Self?

Recently I realized that the key to a successful business was not necessarily having or making lots of money, but it was being completely and utterly happy and literally excited to 'come to work' each day.

I know many of you are thinking that money makes the world go round and without it you can't be completely happy -- but is that really the truth?

Is that YOUR truth?

Do you find that going through your workday you seem to get distracted, tired or even often sick?

Are you
blaming something outside of you for this feeling or are you really digging deep down inside of you and figuring out why you might be feeling these things?

Over the last couple of years I have been studying about (and experiencing for myself as well) what the key to my success in business really is? What I found while digging deep into my soul and subconscious were many lessons I needed to learn in order to be my true "Authentic Self".

I've traveled a long but necessary journey to find out my passion and what my true purpose was in this world. I now know who I am meant to serve, what I am meant to inspire them to be or do and I know the 'how I'm supposed to do that' will show up because I am now clear and focused with myself, my business and what is going to bring me true happiness, pleasure and an abundance of wealth.

Think about this for a few minutes and write down the answers to these questions:

· What are you truly passionate about?
· What makes you feel proud?
· What makes you feel happy?
· Who or what makes you feel loved?
· What makes you feel sexy?
· What motivates you get up in the morning?
· What fears do you have?
· How do you handle your fears?
· What's holding you back or where are you stuck?
· Why are you in business?
· What are the things you want to do or buy with your wealth?
· What does your ideal lifestyle look like?

The answers to these questions will set you free.

You will be free from everything that is holding you back if you open up your mind to the possibilities, opportunities and become aware of YOUR truth.

This freedom gives you the power of complete and utter:

· Clarity
· Focus
· Confidence
· Passion
· Purpose
· Abundance
· Happiness
· Generosity
· Awareness

How do I know this? Because this is what has happened for me and hundreds of others that I know and have come in contact with or helped in the last few years.

You can have this for yourself, in fact, it's the easiest and least expensive form of 'work' you can do on yourself in order to increase your business and enrich your life.

However, when searching for YOUR truth, you may experience much pain (as I did) and you need to remember that this is normal. You will have to go through some dips and valleys in order to get to the promise land of your true "Authentic Self". Many of you might quit in the process because it's too difficult to face your fears or face your inner self and insecurities and I'd like to encourage you to work through that and move ahead anyway. Take that leap of faith and know that it will work out in the end. I promise you it's worth it and you will be a changed person for the good of your life and your business.

Do you have trouble focusing?

Focusing ON your business, rather than just IN it?

Where do you do your best, most productive work?
Where do you come up with the BIG IDEAS?
Where do you find it's easist for you to IMPLEMENT those big ideas?


A couple years ago, I thought it was just me. Just me who procrastinated those things I didn't want to do or didn't know how to do. Just me who got distracted with the dog in my face, my own personal needs (working out, massage, getting my nails done, shopping, etc.) or friends calling to get together.

Do these things sound familiar to you? If it's not procrastination, why are you stuck? What do you think is holding you back from really focusing and being hugely successful?

There could be many things but unless you actually take the time to sit quietly and think about it all - how will you know or figure it out so you can fix it?

I'm thankful that I've taken the time in the last couple years to really work on myself and my business. Because not only have I gotten a lot more clear on what it is that I'm doing, where I want to go and who I want to help along the way but I also nearly have NO stress or guilt in my life now.

No stress because I've learned to "just believe".


  • Believe that what I want, will happen or come about.
  • Believe in abundance, that there are enough clients, money and success for me AND for all my friends/competitors in the industry. I don't need to worry.
  • Believe in sharing and connecting people to those that will really be able to make a huge impact on them.
  • Believe that by sharing and giving, I will receive; and I will receive plenty.
  • Believe that when a potential client doesn't 'feel right' to let them go; other better clients will come along in their place.
  • Believe that I will have it all.
No guilt because I've learned:
  • To let things go
  • To give up control on the things that I don't need to be doing myself
  • To live life as I want to live it because I deserve it
  • To delegate and trust others to help and support me
  • To keep learning and improving my knowledge and expertise
  • To give as much as I can
  • To believe and be open to what's possible

From what I've seen over the last couple years working with budding entrepreneurs, seasoned entrepreneurs and those entrepreneurs making HUGE amounts of money and living the life of their dreams - with ease; they have all mastered this mindset.

I hope that you will take a moment to STOP and think.

  • Think about what you're doing with your life, your business (your family).
  • What you want to be doing that you're not doing in your life, your business (your family)?
  • What is ONE step you can take towards those ideas and goals for all - your life, your business (your family)?
Keep it simple, do one thing now.

Then, if you want to put a plan together on how to accomplish all of the things you want to do or change and what you have to do or delegate to get there - then I urge you to take action with me. This is exactly what I do with my clients. I take them from where they are now to where they want to be in easy, manageable, implementable prioritized steps. It's easier than you think but often times we need someone not so close to us to help pull it out of us. I want to motivate you and help you get to where you really want to be this year - let me help you.

Manifesting what you want

Do you manifest what you want in life or business?

I just spent 4 days at my coach, David Neagle's Experience the Reality of Success seminar at the MGM Grand in Vegas, and I'm not sure if I can even put into words the magnitude of the experience I had but I'm going to try...

You see, over the last 2 1/2 years I've been on this journey of a lifetime with new business models, systems, products, outsourcing, coaching, masterminding, mindset shifts and overall playing BIGGER than ever before.

It's both scary and exciting at the same time, maybe you can relate?

It really did take some big leaps of faith and risk taking to get me where I am. I wouldn't have gotten this far this fast without paying for it either in money or effort or both.

I've learned that most people don't take as many risks as me though which is fine but I'm now on a mission (it's actually my life purpose) to change that. I want to inspire, motivate and educate other entrepreneurs to think bigger, play bigger and BE bigger than they can even imagine.....

Because that's when you get EXACTLY what you want!

I've achieved it. The lifestyle I want, the man of my dreams and the business that gives me passion and purpose while supporting my lifestyle more and more each day.

It has a lot to do with manifesting.

My coach David, teaches manifesting and he's by far much better at it than me but from my standpoint, one of his students who is really just like you....manifesting can be getting anything it is that you want when you want it.

Many of the other people in my mastermind are so good at manifesting money right when they want or need it; my strength so far has been to manifest my perfect life. I think because so far, that's what has kept me so driven and what I've wanted most for the last few years - my lifestyle.

Now, I'm not talking about luxury this and that type of 'stuff' (even though that stuff is nice!) but I'm talking about:

  • the man I want to spend the rest of my life with
  • the family and friends I have
  • the traveling I get to enjoy

The money is great, but it's not all about the money to me. The money is important though because it gives me the opportunity to do what I'm meant to do in this world.

Have you ever felt like you're meant to be doing something so great it's hard to even contemplate?

That's what I know I'm meant to do. I can see parts of where I'll go but it's something you can't always plan out. No business plan can be written that will determine HOW I'm going to get there, I just know that I have to keep playing very, very BIG all the time in the right areas and down the right path and I will be shown the way.

This is manifesting in my eyes. Seeing, visioning, believing in what it is you want and then taking the action steps that come across your path (regardless of their cost or risk) that you know are necessary to take you there.

What I see all too often is that people tend to stop themselves at the action steps for many reasons:

  • they're scared of what's to come, the unknown
  • they 'think' they can't afford it
  • they are blind to the opportunity
  • it's too big for them and too risky
  • it's too far out there of an idea
  • they overanalyze the situation and the opportunity passes

Any of this sound familiar?

If so, stop yourself and take action instead of letting this stuff get in your way. If you really want to move forward faster in your business or in life than many time more than not you have to make decisions and take steps that are extremely uncomfortable.

I've done it too and it's not easy, in fact, sometimes it down right hurts!

Last weekend Scott (my man) and I went up to Reno, NV because my mom and her hubby John were up there and I wanted to introduce them!

What Happens in Dallas....

The eWomenNetwork Annual Conference last week in Dallas, TX was off the hook exciting, energizing and (expensive!)...read on, you'll see what I'm talking about!

First of all, for all my eWomen Friends: Let me say what an amazing weekend we had!

For those unfortunate souls who weren't able to attend this year - OMG! You must, must, must join us next year - go buy your tickets now! Many of us can't even put into words WHY you must attend but if the sign of us signing up for next year at this year's conference (for hundreds of people) isn't proof enough, then I don't know what is! I don't know about you but clearly I made some remarkable shifts in my business (and my life and mindset too!) during my experience in Dallas this year (and I've got video to prove it! scroll down for that)



In case you forgot who I am, let me refresh your memory.....

I'm OPRAH BOUND!!!


Let me tell you what happened. Each year Sandra and Kym offer these amazing trips and adventures during the conference to all over the world - New York, Bamff, San Fran and even foreign countries. Two years ago I wanted to go on the trip with Sandra and one of her Millionaire Girlfriends plus 10 other eWomen members to New York but the price tag was a hefty $7,500!!!

Two years ago, it was a sign up and they'll let you know if you got the trip type of thing but I couldn't even figure out how I would pay to do that, even though I wanted to go so bad and I KNEW it would be an awesome opportunity to network and make connections with women all over the country!

So, I let it slip me by and regretted it all year long.

Then last year they changed the format to a LIVE AUCTION format for the trips at the Gala in front of 2000 women. I had come prepared last year though with about $10,000 in room available on my credit cards in case she offered a trip to New York again; I wasn't going to let it slip me by again!

But in 2007, last year, I'm not really sure if there was a New York trip or what happened but it didn't matter because all of the trips went for huge amounts of money; I don't even remember how much they went for but they were all way over my $10K budget or they didn't feel like the right fit for me - one way or another, I didn't get a trip last year either.


Here's our table - all girls from our South Placer Chapter of eWomenNetwork.


So this year, they told us what trips they had on the website before we even got to the conference. I looked them over:
  • one was a pro bowl football trip of some kind to New York (but football??), hotel, air, show tickets, etc
  • one was a trip to Estee Lauder studios and a pampering trip in New York, makeover, shopping, hotel, air, show tickets, etc.

  • one was a trip to the CNBC studios and time with Donnie Deutsch, star of The Big Idea show, Hearst Publishing, hotel, air, show, etc.

  • and the last one was a trip to the Emmys, limo, red carpet, photo shoot, dinner with the Yanceys, hotel, air, etc.

But none of these really called out to me regardless of the fact that 3 of the 4 were in NY! I decided to wait until I got there to see what would happen.

Let me preface this with saying that -

THE REASON WHY I WANTED TO DO A TRIP:

Was NOT for the pampering, shopping or sight seeing --- it was purely for self promotion, exposure and connections I could make to further my business before, during and after the trip with whomever I came in contact with. This is a BUSINESS DECISION AND BUSINESS INVESTMENT.

Let me also preface this story with saying that I was also up for the Matchmaker of the Year Award - I was 1 of 6 Finalists and very proud to be among such other great networkers and connectors across America! I did not win this award unfortunately but....that made me even more determined to frankly...figure out how to get some 'stage time' during the gala that night!






So, the live auction came up, they started with the pro bowl trip which went for a steal by the way - a trip to NY and Hawaii for only $8000 or something crazy like that.

Anyhow...they kept going and the bids went up and up and up....the CNBC I think was one of the last ones and I almost bidded on that one since it had to do with getting in front of great media contacts and that's how you get noticed....but something didn't feel right. (maybe it was the $32,000 it ended up going for - to my new friend Sheila Stewart by the way, you go girl!)


A couple other packages, people would keep bidding it up and then Kym and Sandra would pull the potential winners on stage to ask if they wanted to share the package instead of taking their significant others or whatever plus they kept throwing in other add ons to the packages when the bidding got good so I knew this would be what happens each time.




So, that was it. The auction was over (so I thought) and I hadn't bidded for anything and wasn't going anywhere yet again....

UNTIL.....

OPRAH'S FACE APPEARED ON THE BIG SCREEN!

Yep, it was a surprise package trip to Chicago for a chance to meet OPRAH! They rattled off the perks and details of the trip but frankly I wasn't much paying attention at that point because I already had my hand up with my program in it ready to bid my $10,000!!!!

Oh, this package quickly went from $10K, to $15K, to $20K, to $25K...and it kept going, and going and I kept bidding and bidding.....not even really thinking HOW I WOULD GET THE MONEY but thinking that this was the opportunity of a lifetime and something in my gut told me I had to keep going....

I HAD TO WIN THIS PACKAGE!


The Oprah trip was for 2 people and there was this other woman waaaayyyyy across the room from me also bidding and she kept bidding against me - we'd go in $2K increments and this went on for about what seemed like 30 minutes but I'm sure it was only 4 or 5 or so I guess.


So, it got up to freakin' $65,000 - can you say OH MY GOD!


It was all a blur to me frankly but I was thinking to myself - bring us up on stage and negotiate dude! I didn't need to take anyone else and was totally open to going with the other gal bidding to cut the costs a bit....here's some pics with me, Glenda and Sandra and Kym Yancey.






Yes, it was me and this other gal Glenda bidding and yes, at that point Kym and Sandra and Taya brought us up on stage. They whispered to us for a short time while the audience was laughing and chanting the Jeopardy tune and finally Kym offered the trip to both of us for $50,000 each. We both quickly agreed, they made a huge big deal about it on stage, we took tons of photos (which I still have to get and upload) and I'm sure they have better video than me but mine's pretty funny (scroll down for that).


We were whisked away outside the room (to get our money of course!). That's when the first call I made was to Jaime, my Financial Advisor with Edward Jones! She didn't answer (I have her cell phone, come to find out she was in a Rotary meeting). I texted her "Call Me Now!" and she still didn't reply.


I was kinda shaking and freaking out at this point and afraid to call anyone else I knew who wasn't there cuz I knew they wouldn't understand WHAT THE HECK I JUST DID! You almost had to be there to know the energy in the room, the vibration in myself and the enormous mindset shift and belief of complete FAITH (that it would all work out, the universe would bring me good things).

It's a really great package I'm sure; I don't have all the details yet but I trust in faith that this is what I was meant to bid for and what was going to be my next quantum leap in my business.

I really have to attribute much of my entire mindset shift in the last two years (that there is an abundance of money out there and you've got to give to get and my risk taking spirit to take such a huge GIANT LEAP OF FAITH) to my coaches Alexandria Brown and David Neagle.

For Ali who inspired me to design the business and life of my dreams, to work less and make more, to set up systems to allow me more freedom in my business to do the things I'm meant to do and for introducing me to David who was my next step this year.

For David who totally altered my mindset in regards to 'just believing' and it will come and to go with my gut and live in faith and basically do 'what feels right'.

They both believe in not holding back on getting what you want and to just go for it! Not worrying about HOW things will happen but first making the DECISION for what you want - that's the first step.

I can't wait to share this experience with them in Vegas at the end of the month at David's Experience the Reality of Success Seminar (I think it's sold out but you might check and try to attend!).


In addition, I hope to INSPIRE YOU ALL to live the life and business of YOUR DREAMS. What does that look like?

You probably aren't ready to take a big leap like I did this last weekend but start opening up your mind to the possibilities and you'll be so much closer to getting what you truly want!
