Oprah Update - the Recap

I finally am home, got a little caught up, met with some clients and now's the time to write more about my trip to Chicago to the Oprah Winfrey Show!

Well, like I mentioned in an earlier post - it's all about setting your intentions...and if you're clear on what you want, the universe will provide right?

Let's see how I did on my intentions....I'm posting what I said at the beginning of my trip what they were and then in blue, I'm noting the result for each.

So, my intentions for this Oprah Trip were (as I noted before) as follows:

  • "Be" Myself, Be Kat - of course I was, true and true
  • Have fun, relax - I did just that, I made the most of my trip cuz I can sleep when I'm dead!
  • Inspire and motivate others - I did this too, I spoke to many people at the networking event I went to with my client - one young guy who was pretty new to 'networking' I taught him a few things, then at the ewomennetwork event - I know I inspired at least 7 or 8 women with my story why I was there and even in the waiting room at the Oprah Show I was able to inspire a few women entrepreneurs with some creative new ideas for their businesses!!
  • Be inspired and open to learning new things and thoughts - I was definitely inspired by Oprah's employees - they all seemed to love their job and working for her, Sandra, the CEO of eWomenNetwork always inspires me when she talks and another few gals inspired me to be even bigger than I was thinking I was (one of them called me a celebrity!)
  • Be open to possibilities and all opportunities that may come - yep, I was always looking and open and many surfaced in fact (I left the 'expectations' at home)
  • Get one or more radio show interviews on Oprah and Friends - well and here I thought this might come in due time with consistent follow up after the visit but to my surprise I was interviewed right on the spot the day I was in the studio!!
  • Be memorable with Corny (Oprah's Radio Show Producer) - I think I was, I've already been in touch...I told stories of women I'd worked with and what they'd accomplished, I told her my vision for inspiring, motivating and educating women entrepreneurs around the world on how to build their business around the lifestyle they want to lead (she loves empowering women!)
  • Obtain multiple media contacts through Corny - not so much as of yet but it's not over...I feel that this experience and the benefits of this will stretch for years to come; I do have her contact, the other radio producer and also a tv show producer too
  • Be singled out on the Oprah show, on air by Oprah as the Entrepreneur who paid $50K for the chance to meet her - ok, this was the big one and no, it didn't happen HOWEVER....I believe it was supposed to happen .... and unfortunately I didn't get a critical email in time that may have made this intention come true....so oh well, I can't lose sleep over it.
  • Make 10-20 new HOT connections - sure I did, at first I thought that would be a lot for where I was going and what I was doing but no, I made at least that many and I've already followed up on most of them! (this takes time and persistence however!!)
  • Build my list with 20-30 new people - I've got about 10 to add to my email but more will come, I can feel it
  • Prospect for 2 new clients (remember I'm going to an ewomennetwork event while I'm here too) - I have a couple in the works!!
  • Talk to Sandra Yancey (at the ewn event) about being a speaker at the 2009 Annual Conference in Dallas - oh yeah baby, this was definitely going to happen, the feelers are out there, now we have to wait and see!!! Cross your fingers!!

Not too bad if I say so myself....and if I'd even thought BIGGER!!! I may have achieved more gosh darn it; that's what I get for playing small....I thought this was big! It's hard to think big isn't it; how big is really big anyway???

Ok so I went back and added a bunch of pictures to each Oprah Update posting, the ones from when I was in Chicago, so you can see more of me and my trip - enjoy!!

Oprah Update - last day and trip home!

So, the end of my trip came and surprisingly enough I was pretty well rested!
I enjoyed a last bit of room service at my hotel and leisurely awaited my car for the trip to the airport; meanwhile I snapped a couple pictures - one of me by that nice fire in my hotel lobby and one outside the charming front door. I highly recommend the Burnham Hotel if you ever travel to Chicago!

The car ride unfortunately was somewhat of a repeat of the one coming...no waters but at least no smoke. I think people in California take their car rides much more seriously than here but oh well. I got to talk to my honey all the way there which was nice because we didn't get much more than a couple quick calls and a few texts while I was in Chicago.
Of course I had to do a little shopping at the airport too cuz who knows when I'll be back in Chicago again - I collect shot glasses for one! I have a fun bar in my home and used to be a bartender (I bet that's a fun fact you didn't know about me!?).
I wrote a ton more in my journal on the plane home; maybe someday I'll share it (but to me, it sure sounds kinda boring??) For now, bye Chicago....

Now comes the tough part of the journey...the follow up so leads don't get cold, contacts are nurtured and even more can become of this wonderful journey!

Oprah Update - Day 4 eWomen in Chicago!

Ok so I'm a bit behind in my postings and I'm trying to catch up....bear with me...I've also got my photos ready now so I went back in and added some to past postings - you can do a search by Oprah Updates I believe to see them (with pics!) in chronological order if you're interested.

Last Friday, October 24th was my last full day in Chicago and it was the day to spend with a bunch of fabulous eWomenNetwork members from all 4 chapters in the Chicago area - all hosted by my new buddy Marie Hale. (here's Marie and I to the left after a long day of networking and night of girl time)

My goal for the day was to make a bunch of new contacts, be an inspriation to many, chat with Sandra about conference and having me be one of her speakers and also to have a great time and go out with the girls later!

So, my client (and now good friend) Marina Collazo (in the middle) picked me up with another friend of ours, Renate Knippen (On the right) - they drove me to the meeting spot but first we stopped for a quick bite to eat and coffee...I hadn't had my coffee yet when they arrived (not good if you want me to network and talk to people)

What do you know...it was right across from Rigley Field??? Fun to snap a couple photos there; I guarantee that will never happen again!!

Ok so during the eWomen event I met a gal Neille Hoffman, she is one of Oprah's graphic designers!!! She was the one who was trying to reach me earlier in the week (if you read the last couple posts) and connect me to Oprah or a producer while I was at the TV show taping....which was the day before this!! Oh my, I seriously thought I'd missed the boat.

But Neille called her contact who called me (during ewn) and who arranged for me to come BACK to the Oprah Winfrey Studios and get a back stage tour!! (that day, Friday, at 3 pm.

So, off I ran from ewn right after it was over, in a taxi (cuz that's all there are in Chicago) to the studio. I arrived there just in time, waited a bit (didn't see anyone important unfortunately) and the TV producer gal came out (out of breath mind you - she's a busy gal) and took me on a whirl wind 10 minute, fly through the backstage action type of tour....wow. It went by fast. I think I was only inside for 15-20 minutes tops! So, no meeting Oprah but I have some connections now at least....and I've already started my follow up!!

Ok so that was it, back in a taxi, back to the ewomen event where a bunch of girls (and one guy) were hanging out (not just waiting for me) but socializing more because a bunch of us were set to do a Girl's Night Out Chicago style!

We had a few drinks and then it was time to eat again of course, our lunch had worn off so we found a quite (ha ha) little bar right next to Rigley Field (lots of men for them to gaggle over...of course I wasn't lookin') where we ate, drank and got to know each other more. Here's a pic of the 7 of us that went.
From left to right it was Pat, Christie, me, Marina, Renate, Marie and Lysa - some great girl talk.
I gave them my take on Match.com and all those sites cuz some of them were single....since that's where I met my honey!!
The night ended a little earlier than I had expected; I was worried these ladies would have me out until dawn...but nevertheless; I got a decent night sleep before my trip home.
Until the next post....

Halloween Mailer Blunder

So what do you do when one of your fun, fantastic ideas turns into an embarrassing mishap?

For any of you who actually received my recent Halloween mailer....let me explain and apologize.

For those of you who didn't receive it, learn this valuable lesson instead....

Last week of course I was in Chicago and while I was gone I had delegated the coordination and mailing of my fun Halloween mailing to one of my assistants/VAs. It was supposed to be a simple thing, stuffing into big envelopes, candy and a flyer and mailing out to a small, targeted list of folks.

Well, my VA, doing her due diligence, got a quote from a local Post Office on how much each piece should be to mail, she put the mailers together and sent them out. Whoalla!

Then the following day, there was a voice mail on my home office phone from the PO where she mailed them from (a different PO mind you than where she got the quote) saying to call them right away because two of the three bins of packages were short postage of $.17 each! They asked if we wanted to fix them or send postage due.....

The unfortunate thing is that since I was out of town, I did NOT check my voice mail every day and I did NOT delegate that (which I will now!!!), I didn't get the message from the PO until the following day and the mailers had already gone out POSTAGE DUE $.17!!!

So, needless to say, this fun, fantastic, surprise mailer that went out to a select group of clients and contacts for Halloween - went to them owing money to receive it....YUCKY I KNOW!

So, if you received the package, that's what happened and I'm sorry. Know that you will be receiving an EXTRA SPECIAL GIFT from me now in late November to make up for it (although for most of you, I know that you don't really mind and don't expect anything to make up for it)! Thanks for understanding....

For all of you, here's the lesson:

When you go out of town or even when you delegate a task in the first place, remember to:

  • Put your phone and message retrieval on auto pilot just as you would your email replies by either delegating this task to an assistant who can respond in your place at least or use a service such as Front Office Staff or whatever to answer your phones and place an auto reply on your email (which most of you probably do). But the phone thing is crucial. I've only delegated checking my messages one time and thought I'd have time to check them myself during this trip but there was so much going on and I didn't want to take myself out of the 'action' so to speak to check in. (Don't be the type of person you see at a conference who goes out to the hallway during all breaks checking their messages and calling clients when you should spend your time 'in the moment' soaking in all the resources, information and making as many contacts as you can while you're there!)
  • Explain thoroughly what needs to be done, giving specific examples, instances and giving clear instructions on when and how to contact you. For example, if you're not checking email and one of your assistants is checking your email (or even if they're not), make sure any other assistants or vendors know that if they need to reach you email will NOT work during that time, they will need to pick up the phone. Another example: I've now trained one of my assistants to do such a good job at being the gatekeeper and handling things while I'm gone that I actually missed out on a connection while I was in Chicago because my assistant didn't want to bother me until she knew for sure it was going to be ok....not good. However it's ok, all is good; and everything happens for a reason but that doesn't mean we can't learn from it.
  • Know that you are in integrity with yourself if something does go wrong; it's not always in your hands and most of the time you can make up for it if you get a little creative. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't delegate - you still need to delegate in order to really become and live and run your business like the CEO; you just have to let things fall where they may and let it go....

I hope you find this helpful in knowing I don't always get things perfect either - ;0)

-- Kat Out

P.S. Don't forget - so if you did receive one of these Halloween mailers - watch your mailbox late November for another SPECIAL SURPRISE (and I promise I won't make you pay any postage!).

Oprah Update - Day at the Oprah Show

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to blog, sorry but I spent most of the day yesterday at The Oprah Winfrey Show studios. Boy do they have that place locked up tight; it's harder to get into that studio than through airport security!!! No cameras, cell phones, writing paper or utelsils, no drinks, water....I tell you. It's good though; for Oprah's sake.

We were there at 7 am, we got shuffled through the crowd and luckily were VIP's so our party's name was called first to sit down cuz it was packed in there. You have to wait a little over an hour before they take you into the set but they fed us which was cool.

We knew we were seeing a Dr. Oz Show and the topic was a follow up show to one about kids and obesity. It was pretty good, I actually learned a few things. It will air the day after the original show with that topic and they couldn't tell us when but to check http://www.oprah.com/ for listings. Who knows if they spanned the audience; I couldn't tell so I'll have to tape it just in case they show ME! It wasn't an audience interactive show so we didn't get to ask questions except before and after the show while we sat there.

Oprah looked good though, it's funny, she had 3 people swarming around her before and in between breaks fixing her makeup, clothes and putting on her shoes. She looked a little tired for this first show but then we found out she was doing 3 shows that day and we actually got to stay for a second taping as well!

That was kinda cool - two for the price of one!

It was interesting to see all that went into the taping of one show and all the people it takes to do it. It was a fun experience.

The second show was also a Dr. Oz show but the topic was about The Science of Beauty; it's going to air supposedly on Nov. 11 cuz they actually said that one. It was about what products are good or not good for your skin, body, etc. and I found out that ALL of those cellulite creams don't work, none of them! (Not that I've used them....but interesting...hee hee).

They gave us one of the books that they promoted on the first show which was "Eat This, Not That"; it's about food substitutions. We only could take photos outside the studios so I'll have to post those when I got home.

The rest of this day I spent actually by myself, shopping, eating and drinking all over Chicago! Did you know Oprah had a store? It was like the Disney Store but all Oprah, mostly sweats and tshirts types of clothes, foreign made products and Oprah gifts - of course I had to buy a few things for myself and a few of my favorite women....

Today I'm off to the local eWomenNetwork GLOW event with one of my clients who lives here, Marina Collazo - I'll show her pic later too! (I don't have my cord to download pics with me....boo hoo).

Have a great day!!!

Oprah Update - Kat's Appearance on the Gayle King XM Radio Show on Thursday, October 23rd

Wow! So what a day! Day 2 (I'm writing a complete journal on this experience and there are a lot of little details I can't possibly write about here but I'll compile them somehow soon.)

I arrived at the Oprah Radio studios about noon today just in time to sit in on a taping of the Gayle King Show. It was so exciting to be in the midst of all that goes on behind the scenes; some of which I can't even share with anyone which is absolutely killing me!!!!

Even pictures, I can't show most of the ones I took today which is a bummer....that's the fun part right? Oh well, it's all good....I'll try to post what I can on here and on my Facebook profile when I get home.

Today though the Law of Attraction was working for sure. The Gayle King show was fun to watch, she is a kick on air and really down to earth. She even called Oprah out of the blue while on her show which was taping today and running tomorrow, Thurs Oct 23rd. So, not only did I get to interact with Gayle and the producers but Oprah was live on the show today too!

Gayle was talking about how Sarah Palin spent $150K on clothes in 6 weeks and was taking callers on their opinions of it all and she asked myself and Glenda (the other gal from ewn who also went with me) our opinions about it all ON AIR!!!!

So I'm going to appear on the Gayle King radio show on Oprah and Friends XM Radio Channel 156. It's a quick little segment but hey, I got on!

The interview will air on Thursday, October 23 between 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. Eastern Time. The show will repeat at 2:00 P.M. and then again at 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time.

GO LISTEN IN!!! And will someone please record it for me and send it to me!!! I can't listen in while I'm here and want to get it on recording - anyone??? A little help here....thanks!!! ;0)

If you want to listen to the show but are not yet an XM Radio subscriber you can go to XM Radio Online and sign up for a free 30 day account. The XM Radio trial account gives you access XM Radio online. You can also go to http://www.oprah.com/ and sign up there as well.

Then right after the taping of her show, we were being introduced to a different show producer in office who asked us what we did to get here and why we were here and we both shared our stories about the live auction, how much we were both 'called' to bid on it and then how much we ended up paying and he asked us "So, what do you think of the Law of Attraction" and we both answered.... "Well, of course that's how we live our life!" and immediately he said "ok then what are you doing for the next hour? I want you to both be the guests on a show I produce with Michael Losier, he's on in 10 minutes!!!"

So we jumped into the radio chairs, got on our headsets and recorded a show together on the Law of Attraction! It was absolutely amazing and what was so amazing is that because of the Law of Attraction, and because we took such a big leap of faith - we got on this show!

So Glenda and I will be on Michael Losier's show who hosts The Law of Attraction show on Oprah and Friends XM Radio. Together we spoke for over 20 minutes on air! The interview will appear on Michael’s show sometime in December they tell us, so more details about that appearance to come!

Oprah's radio show producer was a blast too, she's really down to earth and the energy in the studios was amazing; it had such a great vibration I didn't want to leave.

There's more to tell, but I have to get to sleep so I can be up and out the door by 6:15 for the Oprah Show taping....it's a Dr. Oz show which will probably air in the next few days so be on the lookout for that too - let's hope I get on air or something ok? LOL

Click here to learn more about Oprah and Friends radio show on XM.

Nighty night!

-- Kat Out

P.S. After the taping of the show, Glenda Busick (the other gal who paid big to be here too) and I went across the street to lunch because basically we couldn't do anything - we were so supercharged, our adrenaline was racing and neither of us could really form a sentence. All we wanted to do was eat a quick light lunch at a place where we could relax and wind down. And what do you know...we walk into a place that ends up being one of those mongolian BBQ type places where you have to get up and make your own stir fry dish, they cook it and bring it out. We obviously needed help from the waiter to make ours since we were so star struck and in awe....it was funny, here's a pic.

P.P.S. Then soon after that Glenda decided to go back to the hotel and 'reflect' but I kept on going - one of my clients Marina lives in Chicago and she arranged to meet up with me and bring a couple friends and we ended up going to a big local networking event that night.

P.P.P.S. Then after that networking event, Glenda and I met up again with Corny, the Oprah and Friends producer and a second producer Rita for dinner at Art Smith's Table 52 restaurant; evidently Art Smith was Oprah's chef at one time!! I can't show you pics of that night though according to their 'rules'...sorry....

Oprah Update - Setting My Intentions

Over the last couple years and all my mastermind group meetings and events one thing I've learned is that when you go to an important event or have something coming up in life or even if you just want to set some goals....it's sooooo important to set your intentions for what you want to happen.

I've learned that you should talk about them as though they have already happened and then make sure they are on top of your mind at all times to keep you focused.

So, my intentions for this Oprah Trip are as follows:

  • "Be" Myself, Be Kat
  • Have fun, relax
  • Inspire and motivate others
  • Be inspired and open to learning new things and thoughts
  • Be open to possibilities and all opportunities that may come
  • Get one or more radio show interviews on Oprah and Friends
  • Be memorable with Corny (Oprah's Radio Show Producer)
  • Obtain multiple media contacts through Corny
  • Be singled out on the Oprah show, on air by Oprah as the Entrepreneur who paid $50K for the chance to meet her
  • Make 10-20 new HOT connections
  • Build my list with 20-30 new people
  • Prospect for 2 new clients (remember I'm going to an ewomennetwork event while I'm here too)
  • Talk to Sandra Yancey (at the ewn event) about being a speaker at the 2009 Annual Conference in Dallas

So, this is what I'm setting out to accomplish or experience this week. I'm sharing it with you, on this blog and in this manner because I know doing this really works!

In January when I posted my huge list of what I wanted in my Mr. Right....it worked! I have met him and we are truly in love and on a path towards building our future. So, why not do this every time I have something important going on in my life? Makes sense, doesn't it?

Besides, who cares what anyone else thinks about what I write. People who resonate with me will like me, trust me and do business with me; those who don't, won't but that's ok.

Now....how are you putting your goals and intentions out there to the Universe?? Try it!

Oprah Update - Oct 21st

I'm here - in Chicago! I spent most of the day today traveling from Sacramento, through Dallas and checked in at 4 pm Chicago time.

While I love everything that American Airlines stands for, how they contribute to the eWomenNetwork Foundation and helped sponsor my trip and how Nora, the VP of Women's Sales is so fabulous.....I can't get over the fact that their seats are so close together and it's such a tight fit to travel with them.

I was praying the whole way that a seat in First Class would open up!

The car service wasn't all that either mind you. Don't get me wrong...thank GOD I HAD car service since the taxis there were like hungry piranahs. But the driver made me walk all the way out to the parking lot instead of being picked up curbside (and in high heel boots mind you!) then he had run out of waters and the car smelled of smoke.

I grinned and beared it of course cuz after all, that's not all that important. He did stop for water and ran the air to get fresh air in the car since we had a 1 hour car ride to my hotel in stop and go traffic --- it was only 3 pm! WOW! That's some traffic here in Chicago I tell you; I'm not used to that. (pic is of city from inside taxi)

Finally, I arrived at my luxurious Kimpton Hotel in downtown Chicago, walked in and immediately felt the warm fire burning (it was 54 degrees here) and the welcolming environment. My room is wonderful and I chose to stay in at the hotel tonight so I could catch up on some reading and blogging! The food was exquisite and now I'm online telling you all about it.

I know, not a very exciting day for me...but stay tuned for all the Oprah Updates this week; I'm going to try really hard to post something every day to tell you everything that's going on ok?

Where do you want to be and how soon do you want to get there?

Do you see yourself making 3, 4 or even 5 times as much as you make now when you get there? Then if you truly believe that 'it will all work out in the end' then what do you have to worry about a few 1,000 dollars now for really in the grand scheme of things?

Not that I'm trying to solely suggest you sign up for coaching with ME, because I'm not a good fit for everyone plus my time is pretty limited and I can't help all of you - there simply isn't enough time.

However, if it's not me
, then who is it that you are destined to coach with because everyone needs a coach. Millionaires need coaches, big business people need coaches, my coaches need coaches - we all need coaches but it just depends on where you are in your business or life and what kind of coach can really get you to the next step of your journey.

Many times you need multiple coaches (even at the same time!) because we all specialize in different areas - I work on your business and marketing, others work on life/family/balance, others work on health and fitness, others work on spirituality/intuition and there's even more than this but my point is that if you're not sure where you're going, or if what you're doing is going well and especially if you're in a financial crisis - this IS THE TIME TO GET COACHING.

Then just like we grow out of old clothes, we grow out of our coaches too; I've outgrown 2 coaches already, they did what they could do to get me to my next step and then BAM! The next coach I was destined to work with on my journey entered my life - that's the way it should work!

So, don't fight it, go with your gut on who you should work with to help you personally or professionally and let's get YOU to YOUR NEXT LEVEL AND YOUR NEXT GREATER SELF!

"Do you truly believe....that it will all work out in the end?"

In the world today, many small businesses are wondering "How do I get more business without spending a lot of money?"

I haven't purposefully brought up the topic of the economy in these ezines yet because frankly I believe if you buy into it, it takes over and becomes your reality too.

So, I choose NOT to have a recession or have financial difficulties in my household, in fact I've spent more this year than probably the last 3 years combined in business and self development!

I do understand that for many people, you cannot simply do that as it may be facing you smack in the face and I'm really sorry for those of you going through this. However, I do believe that 'it will all work out in the end' and it's important to believe and have faith in that.

Meanwhile in your business, there are still people spending money out there so if you're discouraged about lagging sales, you just need to go out and find some new or different buyers - it can be that simple.

  • Often times that requires thinking OUTSIDE THE BOX.
  • Often times that requires doing things or investing in things that make you 'UNCOMFORTABLE'.

Take coaching for example, I spend 10's of 1,000's of dollars each year on my coaches, mastermind groups, workshops, seminars and traveling for all of this because now is the time people need my help the most - when your business is struggling and you need more clients FAST!

What do you think millionaires like Donald Trump or Oprah would have done if they hadn't invested in their first mentor, coach or learning program way back when? I'm sure they invested plenty of money in their own learning and development.

Do you think they'd be where they are now if they didn't?

Oprah Update #4

So it's getting really close to me leaving for Chicago and I'm getting excited and a little nervous. I just had a coaching call with Kym and Sandra Yancey yesterday though (Sandra is CEO and Founder of eWomenNetwork and Kym is her husband who also works in the business - they're the ones who set up this package), they helped me focus on what my intentions were for my trip and helped me with my 'sound bytes' (those are quick statements you want to remember when speaking to the media that you make sure to get out).

I've decided that my intention is to just 'be myself' and NOT have a plan because you can't plan this stuff; I just have faith that the opportunities, connections and ideas that are meant to come out of this trip and this experience will come about.

I realize that the 'having faith' part is hard for many people, especially when money is involved. I love encouraging my clients (and YOU!) to do this though on some level because it can truly transform your business AND your life!

When I spoke to eWN last week, I was talking about delegating for example and how if that's the ONE thing that right now is most uncomfortable for you to do (since we were talking about follow up tasks) then THAT could be the step you take 'in faith' right now (you don't have to go spending $50K like I do --- yet!).

I can't wait to share more of the details with you when I return from this trip - so many of you keep asking me all about it.

Tips on How to Build Your List From Your Website, part 2

Here are the last two tips on how to build your list from your website.

2. Develop an Email Marketing Campaign designed to use your ever-increasing database contacts. Remember, it is not enough to just add contacts to your list; you need to remind them about you often. Are you getting my email newsletters chock full of great marketing tips?

3. Develop Exceptional Copy for your Website. You will not retain the interests of your site visitors without great content, headlines, and informative yet easy to read text. In addition, if you are selling a product and/or service that is not available as a Web purchase, be sure to include separate sales pages for each product or service that you offer. If you struggle with writing good content to sell your product and/or service, hire a content writer. Remember, good writing is vital to the success of any Website!

Does this make sense? It really is not that difficult. The most difficult part is creating a Web site that is professional, functional and that is updated often to include these "must haves". This task is not normally something most people can do themselves. It can be a disservice to your business if you attempt to design your own site. This is not something that you should be doing - delegate it!

If you want more information on how to maximize the copy on your Web site, how to find a better Web designer, developer or hosting company, or how to launch an email campaign, contact me. I can help you to either do it, find someone I trust to do it right or to ensure your needs are taken care of.

Tips on How to Build Your List From Your Website

In my next few posts I am going to share with you some tips on how to build your list from your website.

Someday, wouldn’t you like to be able to work strictly by word of mouth and a referral system? Wouldn't it be nice to work less hours, while still earning more money? Your contact database is your most precious asset and is the key to helping you achieve these goals. Therefore, it is imperative that you increase the number of contacts within your database and use it to keep in front of those contacts regularly. This will ensure that when your contacts think about the product or service you offer, that YOU are on the top of their mind.

Tips on Building Your List from Your Web site

1. Add an Email Signup Form to the home page of your Website, as well as the other pages of your site. There should also be a link to an email marketing program such as the one that I am using, which automatically adds individuals to my mailing list when they sign up. There is no manual entry process necessary. This type of service makes it easy for visitors to add themselves to your list; however, you still must tempt them to sign up! One way to do this is to use a “give away”, such as a free report or resource offering that entices them to sign up. Be sure to steer clear of saying "sign up for our newsletter".
