Email Marketing...Not as Reliable as it Used to Be

It used to be that you could send an email newsletter out or some kind of email announcement to your subscriber list and the majority of them would get it and open it.

If you've been marketing via email for a while you probably remember those days.

However, these days things are a whole lot different. Not only do you have to have a loyal following of prospects and contacts who love you and what you have to say but you can't just get their attention with any regular old email newsletter anymore. They require so much more since their attention is split in thousands of different ways, especially in their inbox.

So, what do you do?

How do you stand out and get your email opened much less responded to?

Well, to be honest, I can't solve that problem for you. People just have way too many emails coming in, including myself, and just like the fact that they are more selective on where they spend their valuable dollars, they are also just as selective on which emails they open and read; society is just too overwhelmed with email.

So, what you do about it is you DO other types of marketing in conjunction with whatever you already did via email. You make sure first that you're already sending enough email....at least 2-4 times a month you're touching your list via email.

Then as I've been saying all along (and practicing myself) you implement direct mail campaigns, phone calling strategies a few times a year and more in person connecting when possible.

Social media and online networking is great but it's not the same as what I'm talking about, that's an entirely different marketing strategy you want to have in place as well. So, if you're doing that and saying "I'm ok" then no, you're not; you need to do that as well as this.

Today's world is all about Interactive Follow Up, not just blasting info at your peeps.

Figure out how to be more interactive with your list, prospects and clients and you'll see much higher sales come through faster.
