Kat's Health & Wellness Experience, One Month Retest

Ok so I had my one month retest this week. That was fun. The doctor I see tests your body fat %, weight of course, the age of your cells and a few other things. I lost 7 lbs overall, all of which were fat lbs which is great and lost 4% body fat. Plus I gained 2.5 lbs in muscle.

What I like about this eating plan is it's something I can do for the rest of my life pretty much. Granted he doesn't want me to eat any grains or wheat - so no bread, rice or anything for the rest of my life. Well, that's not going to happen because I absolutely LOVE SUSHI but I really don't miss most of it. I'm lucky I guess, I've never been one of those people who crave and want breads all the time.

I'm not craving anything anymore either because I've cut all the sugar out of my diet. I haven't gone on a red wine kick yet though since I started so that may change, especially since I'll be in Vegas this weekend and all next week! Heck, that may put me into a sugar high tail spin, who knows? ;0)

Backing up a bit to share the reason why I'm doing this in the first place is basically because I'm pushing 40 (I'll be 39 in April) and I wanted to find out how my body is doing, what it likes and doesn't like that I may be putting in it. I wanted to find out now before I spend another 20 years doing more damage.

So, I'll share more later - wish me luck to eat well in Vegas!!

Kat's Health & Wellness Experience

On a more personal note, I know really none of you know I've been going through this medical diet/eating plan thing to basically clean out all the junk and make room for more healthy eating and living practices. Not because I was sick or anything but I'm pushing 40 (in a year from April) I thought I'd better 'go get double checked out' you know?

I tell you, it was hard at first - the doctor didn't want me to eat any meat, fish or eggs for 14 days! OMG, I thought I would die. So for a while I've been a little in a fog, hopefully you couldn't tell. Now that I'm back to eating meat again my energy has skyrocketed.

I'll keep you posted more about this story because many of you are either in the health or wellness industry or you may have health problems you may not know why. I tell you this doctor is really intuitive and he does some tests that reveal all kinds of things.

Anyway, I'll keep up with more info about this on my blog for those who are interested in what happens...
