Happy New Year ! Here are 2 Easy Ways to Increase Your Revenue

Are You Ready to Find out the Easiest 2 Ways to Increase Your Revenue in 2010??
Ok, I've done this myself, I've seen it done by my friends and peers and I've recommended this to clients many times with HUGE SUCCESS!

It's actually very simple.

1. RAISE YOUR RATES
2. OFFER PAYMENT PLANS FOR YOUR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES

I just had a client last week come to me who was charging way under market value for her services and I basically told her to suck it up and increase her rates by 400%!! Yes, I told her to raise her rates by 5 times what she was charging clients now. She almost fell off her chair (I think, as we were on the phone).

This new rate was actually the going rate for what she was doing. In fact I am paying someone to do it in my business right now every month!

Actually this happens all the time with services and products I actually need. When I run across people that I actually pay or could pay for what they do, I open my mouth and suggest they raise their rates! Am I a dummy or what? I could be paying much less for stuff if I would just shut up! Oh well....it's for the greater good.

So, this client of mine; if she takes my advice, she could literally increase her income by FIVE TIMES with no more work!

It could be that simple if you are not charging enough OR if your perceived product or service value is a lot higher than what you are charging. If you don't know what your value is or what the going rate is - ASK ME PLEASE. I see a lot of different businesses every month and I know how to get you these answers.

As for payment plans; many peers of mine in the info-product industry (selling online products and services) find that they get a lot more orders and purchases if they offer payment plans - especially OUTRAGEOUS PAYMENT PLANS such as 18 payments of $19.95 or something like that. I do this for some of my products and services even if delivery of those products or services is well before their last payment due date and all of the payments are made online of course too by automatic payment which is the key. You don't want to go trying to collect checks after the fact, that's for sure.

If you should need some advice on how to make this adjustment in your business either mentally, physically or technologically - ASK ME PLEASE. I love to support small business owners with this kind of expansion and going to the next level. Plus, there are many things that can go along with doing these things in your business that you want to incorporate as well, especially in a responsible and respectful way.

Don't just sit there waiting for the phone to ring or hoping your social networking kicks in and business starts flowing - find out what else you can do to give your business the jumpstart it needs for 2010.

I am hosting a Free content-packed call January 7th at 5 pm PST - Register Here Right Now (or email my business manager immediately to reserve your seat if you have trouble with the registration page at Cindy@JumpStartYourMarketing.com).

As soon as you register you'll get access to the call in numbers and webcast link but all you really need to have is access to your phone. You'll also have access to the recording but I'd make this one LIVE for sure if you can - I've got some BIG SURPRISES for some LUCKY LIVE LISTENERS!

"Avoid the Shotgun Approach to Marketing Your Business and You Might Succeed" , part 2

This is part 2, of yesterday's post about  how to Avoid the Shotgun Approach to Marketing Your Business.

You also need to have in place multiple streams of income these days for a really profitable business, but which models should you choose? It depends I say, on your desired lifestyle that you want and that's an entirely different article!

Here are just a few general suggestions to consider when developing your marketing funnel (funnel = your database and people you will be continually marketing to):

1. Make sure and do at least one marketing activity each day.

2. Set specific marketing & money goals each year; review and adjust quarterly.
3. Always be brainstorming new ideas; write them down and keep a file, review quarterly
4. Always have marketing materials with you in your car - cards, flyers, brochures, postcards - you never know when you might be able to pass them out or put them on display!
5. Always include your company contact info (and possibly a business card or promotion piece) with any invoice, card, mailer or email.
6. Always follow up with each person you meet out networking within a week at most.
7. Keep an organized database in your computer of everyone you know; categorizing them by hot, warm or cold prospect, client or referral source at the very least
8. Develop a newsletter by mail or email to stay "on top of people's minds" so they will remember to refer you - if you don't remind them about you, they WILL forget about you!
9. Track your results and see what's working, what you can tweak and resend and then what needs to go after giving it a minimum of 3 months or more depending on the activity.

Much of this can be outsourced nowadays with all the Virtual Assistants around, temp agencies hire out to do such tasks or hire someone else responsible if you can't get to this but know that these things NEED to get done - whether you do it or someone else it doesn't matter. We are not all SuperHeroes and we can't do it all - nor should you!

Then, to put a plan together on how to accomplish all of the things you want to do or change and what you have to do or delegate to get there - I urge you to take action with me. This is exactly what I do with my clients. I take them from where they are now to where they want to be in easy, manageable, implementable prioritized steps.

It's easier than you think but often times we need someone not so close to us to help pull it out of us. I want to motivate you and help you get to where you really want to be this year and beyond - let me help you.

To find out how we can work together to help you get focused and making smarter marketing decisions (oh and to make more money too of course!) either visit my coaching page, my do-it-yourself products page or attend my next local workshop.

"Avoid the Shotgun Approach to Marketing Your Business and You Might Succeed" , part 1

• Are you doing everything you should be in the marketing of your business or is there something that's slipping through the cracks that could bring you a ton more money?

• Are you spending your dollars wisely or hap hazzardly to which ever sales rep walks in the door (or calls or emails you) each day?

• Do you have an actual marketing plan?

These are some of the questions you want to be asking yourself AND THEN - figure out how to fix this so you are making SMART MARKETING DECISIONS.

If you're like most small business owners, you get so busy working IN your business that when it's busy, you don't concentrate much on marketing and advertising. In fact many clients I've spoken with have said they often tell their advertising sales reps "just run the same ad as last month" when they call for new ad copy. They do this because they don't have time to think of what to do next.

But if you PLAN out your ads ahead of time, making sure your headlines, offers and messages are timely AND that they accurately and effectively will make your target market take notice and act on your ad then they will be much more effective and give you better results.

Or if you don't run ads....when you're busy with clients you don't make time to market for new ones until those ones are gone; then you wonder "where did they all go? I'd better do some marketing". This isn't smart marketing either because then you'll be so desperate to get new clients you'll do anything and quick!

Preparing a marketing plan is your first step. You might need to conduct some market research to determine who your ideal client is, what their needs are, how you can meet their needs, where you can find them, how you will reach them, and the daily activities you need to do to keep your funnel full. If you know the answers to these questions then you're ahead of the game (BUT ONLY AS LONG AS YOU ARE REALISTIC WITH THOSE ANSWERS).

Some of these activities may include networking, speaking, advertising, direct mail, attending seminars, holding or being guests on teleclasses, social networking, blogging, internet marketing and ezines. All of these are active forms of marketing that take your time, unless you can delegate some of the activities or automate them.

In my next blog post I will share more tips about marketing your business.

10 FREE, Creative, Low-Cost Marketing Tips, #10

This is tip #10 of my top 10 FREE creative, low-cost marketing tips. These are tips I give small business owners and entrepreneurs on a daily basis when I see them out at networking functions. These 10 things will be the least expensive and probably the most effective forms of marketing that you could do to promote your small business.

Never base your advertising decisions on what YOU do, take yourself out of the picture and think like your customer and what they would generally do. Always ask pertinent questions of any media before buying it such as “What is their circulation or reach” and “How do they market themselves or how is their medium distributed”. Research all your options first, figuring out which ones reach your target market the best, then evaluate their cost per thousand. I can put together an Advertising Plan for you so you know where to and NOT to spend your money!
That was the last tip in my series of 10 FREE, Creative, Low-Cost Marketing Tips. If you would like to print out the article you can download it here.

Follow up, Follow up, Follow up with everyone you meet and ask them what their business is all about and how could you work together to promote each other? You need to develop a system for this so it gets done. Whether it’s add them to your mailing list and mail to them once a month, add them to your email list if they opt-in and email them weekly or calling them, stopping by or faxing them on a monthly basis to keep in touch. Having a system or guideline written down that you can follow easily each month is the key. I can help you put together an effective and efficient, low cost follow up marketing system that’s easy to follow!

10 FREE, Creative, Low-Cost Marketing Tips, #3

This is tip #3 of my top 10 FREE creative, low-cost marketing tips. These are tips I give small business owners and entrepreneurs on a daily basis when I see them out at networking functions. These 10 things will be the least expensive and probably the most effective forms of marketing that you could do to promote your small business

Networking is the cheapest form of advertising you can do – find organizations, associations, chambers, groups and monthly meetings that have attendees and members that fit your unique target market client or referral source and visit them first, then join if you see the value. The key to networking is frequency. You need to go to the organization’s events that you join each month for greater visibility, to be recognized and ultimately to be the go-to person for your particular industry.

Where do you find the best place to network?

Hold an Open House, Ribbon Cutting or some kind of an event to attract the public or your specific target market to your business. You can partner with another business to split the cost, you can bring in a charity to raise money for or have a client appreciation night of some sort. Whatever you do, make sure you plan it well in advance and publicize the event to the media and your database. I can help you plan and promote your events in the media and to your database!

"3 Ways to Get More Busines Now", part 3

Here is # 3 of my 3 easy (and basically free) ways to get more business now:

3. Email Marketing - This is still my number one source of new clients, program sign ups, product purchases and membership enrollments and it's basically automatic! seriously, if you're not doing an email newsletter (ezine) like this in some way and at least two times per month to your entire list (of opted in folks!) then you are clearly missing out on sales - guaranteed. It's that simple. I don't care what business you're in or if you HATE getting emails yourself....you still need to be doing it in your marketing in SOME way, trust me; there's always a way to do this AND stay true to your values, compliance issues, thoughts, etc. The best part is that you can delegate most of this!

Want help figuring out what you should be doing or NOT doing in your business or marketing so you spend your valuable dollars and time in the right place? Give me a call!

I highly recommend the type of brainstorming, coaching and development you get into my Private 90 Day Coaching Program, however you can always start out with a 1 Hour Strategy Session too if you want to 'see' what's possible first.

Go check out my services - but don't just READ about them, TAKE ACTION and DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF THIS YEAR!

"3 Ways to Get More Busines Now", part 2

Here is # 2 of my 3 easy (and basically free) ways to get more business now:

2. Social Networking - I get a lot of response from my interaction on the social networking sites I belong to, both in new prospects and ezine sign ups but also with new partnership opportunities with other business professionals that also target women entrepreneurs. I've gotten direct coaching business from one of the sites too to the tune of many thousand dollars. I've done a few teleclasses on this stuff in my Silver Mentor Program, you can still access some of those recordings when you join this program (go to http://www.mentorsignup.com/)!

"3 Ways to Get More Busines Now", part 1

This is going to be quick and easy to implement this week because I know you're busy and I know some of you are desperate for m-o-n-e-y right now (so some people say).

The following are 3 main strategies I use in my own marketing to get more business every month and get more people signed up on my ezine (what you're reading) which ultimately leads to more sales, clients and m-o-n-e-y!
Check them out and be OPEN to how you can use these in your business regardless of what that is.

Here is # 1 of my 3 easy (and basically free) ways to get more business now:

1. Network in person - this may include local networking events but I challenge you to venture outside of your local area and find events that attract your target market or a group of your referral sources so you can get more global exposure. There really are many ways to monitize your efforts nationwide even though you think you can only help people locally (have you read the new home page on my website since Dec?). Connect with me, I have a list of conferences all over the country - let me know what kind you're looking for!

I will share the next two ways later this week in my blog!

Tips on How to Build Your List From Your Website, part 2

Here are the last two tips on how to build your list from your website.

2. Develop an Email Marketing Campaign designed to use your ever-increasing database contacts. Remember, it is not enough to just add contacts to your list; you need to remind them about you often. Are you getting my email newsletters chock full of great marketing tips?

3. Develop Exceptional Copy for your Website. You will not retain the interests of your site visitors without great content, headlines, and informative yet easy to read text. In addition, if you are selling a product and/or service that is not available as a Web purchase, be sure to include separate sales pages for each product or service that you offer. If you struggle with writing good content to sell your product and/or service, hire a content writer. Remember, good writing is vital to the success of any Website!

Does this make sense? It really is not that difficult. The most difficult part is creating a Web site that is professional, functional and that is updated often to include these "must haves". This task is not normally something most people can do themselves. It can be a disservice to your business if you attempt to design your own site. This is not something that you should be doing - delegate it!

If you want more information on how to maximize the copy on your Web site, how to find a better Web designer, developer or hosting company, or how to launch an email campaign, contact me. I can help you to either do it, find someone I trust to do it right or to ensure your needs are taken care of.
